Vowly

Terms of Use

Effective October 7, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Samet Çiftçi, an individual developer based in Hungary (“Vowly”, “we”, “us”), and apply when you use the Vowly app and this website. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. About these terms

By creating an account or using Vowly, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Vowly. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights that the law where you live gives you and that can't be waived by contract.

2. Who can use Vowly

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vowly. If you are under 16, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Vowly only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google or your email address. Keep access to your sign-in method secure: you're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@tryvowly.app if you think someone else has accessed it. Give us accurate information, and only create an account for yourself.

4. The service

Vowly helps you practise a language through conversations with AI characters, voice calls, audio stories, vocabulary units and exercises. We keep improving it, so features may change, be added or be removed. We aim to keep Vowly available, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Vowly is a learning tool: it doesn't award qualifications or certify a level of language ability.

5. AI-generated content

Conversations, corrections, suggested replies, translations, explanations and speech in Vowly are generated automatically by AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or unnatural, and the characters you talk to are fictional. Don't rely on them for professional, legal, medical or financial advice, and don't share sensitive personal information in your conversations. We may filter or refuse content that breaks these terms.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Vowly has a free plan with limits — for example on the number of AI messages per day — and a paid subscription, Vowly Pro, which unlocks the full app. The features and limits of each plan are shown in the app.

7. Acceptable use

When you use Vowly, don't:

8. Your content

You own the messages and recordings you create in Vowly. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and transmit them — including to the providers named in our Privacy Policy — only as needed to run Vowly for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.

9. Our content and rights

Vowly, including its software, design, characters, stories, lessons, audio and other content, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own learning, under these terms. The Vowly name and logo are ours; please don't use them without permission.

10. Third-party services

Vowly relies on third-party services such as Apple, Google and the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms may also apply to you, and we're not responsible for services we don't control.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Vowly and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. We'll tell you why unless the law prevents us or it would put others at risk. If we end Vowlyaltogether, we'll give you reasonable notice. Sections 8 to 15 continue to apply after your use ends.

12. Disclaimers

We work hard to make Vowly useful and reliable, but to the extent the law allows, it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or that AI-generated content will be accurate. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if digital content or a service doesn't conform to the contract, are not affected.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Vowly in the 12 months before the claim and EUR 50.

14. App Store terms

If you downloaded Vowly from Apple's App Store, the following also applies:

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Otherwise, the courts of Budapest, Hungary have jurisdiction. If you have a problem with Vowly, please contact us first at support@tryvowly.app — most issues can be solved quickly that way.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Vowly after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription.
